LIFA just works
Well, I didn't know what LIFA was but a friend of mine persuaded me to give it a try, claiming it's the best base layer he has ever tried. Boy, was he right. The material is very soft and flexible compared to other synthetics out there yet it wicks moisture away better than anything else I own. I prefer to wear mine as a 'second skin' so that the fabrics is always very close to my skin and I can honestly say it stays dry no matter what. I use it mostly in the gym where I do about half an hour of cardio followed by about 60 minutes of weight lifting. The shirt doesn't restrict me, it stays dry and breaths extremely well. I ended up with about dozen of these, use short sleeve to work out, long sleeve to run on the beach in the morning. I love it.
Pretty cool base layer
Okay, so I didn't belive much of the hype the salesman told me about this base layer, but decided to give it a try, just because it looked kinda cool and saw couple pictures of guys doing some mountaineering somewhere in Norway. Man, was he right. This thing really does work. Apparently the main difference is in the fabric--this shirt is made out of polypropylene that virtually does not absorb any moisture. This way all the sweat gets pushed out through the base layer and gets absorbed by the mid layer and you have virtually always dry shirt on you. Worked absolutely perfect on my last trip to Mt. Shasta when I didn't want to pack a lot and was skimpy on base layer. No major odor issues, feels great and lasts a long time. Great underwear for the buck if you ask me. Go Helly Hansen!
